Visit Us

If you are visiting for the first time, the most popular way to experience us is through our walking tours, food tours, and visits at H. Fisher & Fils.

We’re not a traditional museum.

Here’s how to plan your visit:

Our Museum hosts dozens of cultural events year-round and contemporary art exhibitions in our gallery space.

Our location at 5220 boulevard St-Laurent is currently closed for renovations. We are currently operating out of H. Fisher & Fils at 4129 boulevard St-Laurent, and lead walking tours and food tours around Jewish Montreal.

First-time visitors

Please note that we do not have a permanent exhibition. We are currently offering guided visits of H. Fisher & Fils at 4129 St-Laurent. Our walking tours meet outside of H. Fisher & Fils at 4129 St-Laurent, and our flagship food tour, Beyond the Bagel, meets outside of the Rialto Theatre at 5723 Park Ave.

The reception area at H. Fisher & Fils is quite small. Please be aware that if the Museum is busy and you have already purchased tickets for a walking tour or guided experience, our staff may request that you wait on the terrace outdoors until your tour has begun. We appreciate your patience and collaboration!

Accessibility

The ground floor of H. Fisher & Fils has a small step to enter. There is no ramp or automatic door opener, but a Museum staff can assist any visitors entering the building with limited mobility. The H. Fisher & Fils store is over 100 years old and unfortunately has limited restroom facilities. Our single bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.

Tours can generally be made to accommodate different mobility and accessibility needs. Please inform the Museum of any relevant accessibility needs upon booking your tours. Note that Montreal’s sidewalks and roads are often under construction, which can further impact accessing our walking tours.
