Fellowships

Fellowships

Providing research and professional training for young adults.

Our summer fellowship program offers young adults paid opportunities to  explore a career in museums and develop professional skills in the cultural sector. Launched in 2014, the Montreal Jewish Museum’s fellowship programs offers a cohort of 8-12 fellows an immersive experience in digital humanities, public history, and contemporary museum practices.

Our summer fellowship program invites candidates to acquire experience and practice skills related to increasing access to Montreal’s unique Jewish history, food, arts, and culture. Starting off with a 3-week seminar series in May, our fellowship program is a commitment of 3 to 4 months through the summer. The fellowship program provides emerging cultural workers interested in Jewish culture and history, to support the Museum’s public programs (such as guided walking tours, food tours, research projects, community events, and overseeing visitor reception).

“Working at the Museum has genuinely been the best job I’ve had. My role as a fellow has taught me a lot about Jewish life, culture, and history, but maybe most importantly it has enriched my identity and helped me build connections to Jewish communities within Montreal and beyond. I’m grateful for my time at the Museum and would suggest the fellowship for anyone interested!”
